In his diverse career, Rob Murray has overseen everything from large scale operations in Hawaii farming bananas and stone fruit, to boutique vineyards for small growers on the Central Coast of California. Rob’s family is rooted in agriculture, and he began to work on their San Joaquin Valley farm at the age of five. He holds a degree in Agricultural Management from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, and owns and manages ~1000 acres of Central Coast vineyard land. Rob's brands all reflect his attention to detail in the vineyard and strong passion for farming for quality.
After 10 years of managing restaurants, building wine lists, and developing his own palate, winemaker Robert Henson returned to school in 2002 to study Enology at Fresno State. While pursuing his Enology degree and distributing wine for Chambers and Chambers he had the opportunity to work with Michael Michaud from Michaud Vineyard, a 32 year veteran and the authoritative resource for grape growing in Monterey County. Upon completing his university studies, Robert continued to work as Michaud’s Assistant Wine Grower until 2007. He then took a position as Winemaker and Vineyard Manager of a small winery in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where he received numerous awards and accolades, before eventually making his way back home to the San Luis Obispo area. Henson Wines is his first independent endeavor.
Andrew holds a degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in Agricultural Business and a minor in Viticulture and Enology. He spent 3 years in cellar operations on the Central Coast – working at Edna Valley, Four Vines and the Firestone Walker Brewery. He then spent 4 years in Napa and Sonoma working in grower relations and vineyard operations for Diageo Chateau and Estate Wines buying grapes and managing vineyards for Sterling, BV, Provenance, Rosenblum and Acacia.
Bruce hails from a horticultural background. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Horticulture from California Polytechnic State University, Pomona, and spent 15 years working in wholesale nurseries and focusing on plant propagation. In 2007 Bruce moved to the Central Coast where he proceeded to earn his master’s degree in Crop Science with a focus on Viticulture. Bruce joined the Coastal Land Partners team in 2009 and oversees vineyard operations.
